Indian attempts for the Oscars!

I was going through a mental list of some of the Indian movies sent to the Oscar and couldn't help but feel that we're way behind in choosing a good film to send!
Its kinda weird to see a lot of commercial films being sent hoping to make it to the big 5 in the Foreign Film category! There are some genuinely awesome movies which never get sent! Is there something wrong in the way we choose films to be screened for the oscar? We have the talent and the money and still perform very poorly. What are your comments?

First the Indian films should sincerely depict the character of India and it's many beautiful hues in a very very professional manner without any hang up of the producer director and the So called Heroes.Well any country can win under the best foreign film category.If we have the open mind to learn and accept what good movies are instead of bluffing around.

I also think every year its a controversy which ilm to be sent to oscar.But I always think taht in acse of indian films that are sent to oscar, its always the wrong choice. I have heard that in this decisions its always the weight of the directors on the selection board. hope in near future any indian cinema is atleast chosen
