I have to give kudos to myself! I've been sticking with my New Year's Resolution since before New Years actually. I promised myself I was going to get back into shape due to the sluggish feeling I was starting to experience. I hate the word diet so I decided to call it a lifestyle change. All I did was change nothing that I was eating before but just watching my portions. Let me begin to tell you what made me start this journey. I was at my mom's during Christmas and getting ready for bed, I stepped on her scale, and found myself depressed after I did that. I told my hubby about it, and he got up out of bed, and went and weighed himself as well. He came back frowning too. I said, I need to change and start making better choices with food. Better choices as in better portions, not changing what I was eating. So last night I was at my mom's house before I had to work, and stepped on the orginal scale and found out I lost 17 pounds! This has been in a period of 2 months. I think it's a healthy amount for 2 months. Everything I cook I've been looking at nutrition labels and watching the serving sizes on the packages and I started using my measuring cup to level out my portions. Making sure I had at least 6 glasses of water, 5 servings of fruits & vegetables, 2 servings of milk, and 2 good oils, a day. I've been also keeping a journal of what I've been eating and that's helped as well, and at the end of my day, I would write how my day was, and that seems to keep my encouragement levels up :) Plus this is with minimum exercise, but when the warmer weather comes, I'm sure the pounds will shead quicker b/c I intend on being outdoors more than in. I'm going to keep going with this lifestyle change because I don't think I'm done yet, not near to my goal weight I want to be. I'll get there slowly but surely.

Hello Nixxi76. That sounds great, I really think it's the best way to lose weight just to change your food consumption....but you have to keep yourself to it and that can be difficult sometimes...Keep up the good work, and I will follow your method. Bye 4leaved.

I'm sad to say mine didn't last very long. My goal was to lose weight also and get more active. I didn't stick too it for more than a few days :( I'm going to give it another go. Way to go on losing 17 lbs! That is a very good weight loss for 2 months. I wish you luck getting to the weight you want!
