Most of the time if Hubby is sleeping I just tend to throw something quick together. I don't do a whole big meal. I don't mind cooking but it does get tiresom after awhile. **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

i usually either make a sandwich of some kind of quick food such as hot dogs if it's just me. no sense of making a lot of dishes, although i suppose i could just freeze the extra.

yes a hot dog sounds like a good idea,as i agree there is no sense in making a lot of dishes just for yourself,i often freeze extra food when i do a big cook up,so there is always something in the freezer to pull out if needed.thanks.cheers sue

When I am alone at home I never bother to cook. It is my holiday from cooking. Just like you are doing I eat what is left in the refrigerator, then do something else. Read, watch TV or clean up.

yes i agree we spend far too much time cooking when we have too, that it is so nice just to chill out with a snack and do absolutely nothing, but what we want to do like watching t.v.or reading.thanks for sharing cheers sue

yes if i was always home alone i would have to cook as well,i usually do a bulk cook up on sundays and freeze small meals,so there is always something in the freezer for the children or myself to eat if needed.thanks for sharing.cheers sue

I live alone so I'm always cooking for myself. It works for me because I know what I like to eat so I can have what I want when I want it. I also don't have to spend ages making it look good because it's only me that will see it so cooking time is greatly reduced.

Hi suehan1, when alone at home, I always try not to cook if there is something just to fill up my stomach. If there is no more bread left, it is a bit troublesome for I have to prepare some food. I always prepare by using the simplest and convenient method, just by steaming a small bowl of rice. I will then take it together with some hot spicy mixed vegetable pickles.

In the past when I was single, I liked cooking for myself. As it's one of my interests. Since I lived alone, so I thought I should treat myself better. After I am married and now even have a child, if I can be alone at home, I won't cook myself. I prefer to eat outside or have instant food at home. Because it is so difficult to have my own spare time and I shall do more things during this break. So I won't spend time cooking for myself only.

i do but not often, maybe once or twice a week - usually during weekends. I dont have time to cook during weekdays because of work. On weekends i have time to shop for ingredients and do some cooking for myself. i usually cook pasta, i find it easy to cook; i experiment on different sauces everytime so it feels like cooking a totally different dish everytime.

If I am on my own I hate cooking, it just doesn't seem worth it. I generally end up picking, like making a piece of toast. I enjoy cooking but when you have done three meals a day all week then I can get quite frustrated and the BF gets the mega hint, it's time to go out and get something (don't have much in the way of takeaways here in the DOm Rep so we end up eating out, hmmm nice!!)

What a lovely discussion! I myself never cook for myself. Usually I will eat outside or cook some instant-noodle adding 1 egg.......lol....just like now! I feel like eating with others not myself and cooking for them. I enjoy the appreciation and commendation from my families. That is why I don't feel like cooking for myself. Besides, I don't know whether I will be fed up with cooking someday or not.But do think that will be my pleasure. I hope so!

When I am alone here? I dont know but i never been without a woman in the house. When I was younger, my mother is always there for me. She cooked for me. And now that I am with my wife... she cooks for us. And in the time that she is not in the house, she always leave some food for us. But I know how to cook... and I do it well. I sometimes cook for my wife. But the truth is my wife never allow me to cook for myself. She do that herself.

Depending on my mood I do usually cook at least 2 times a week while it's just me. Sometimes it's an egg sandwich other times it's pasta. Most of the time when I don't feel like cooking a eat a peanut butter and jelly sandwich or a bowl of cereal.

No, I don't cook for myself when home alone... unless I had a really strong craving for something I could only cook. Other than that, I would rather have food delivered or would buy a cooked meal at a nearby store. It's actually cheaper than buying all the ingredients needed just to make a meal for one mouth to feed. It also saves me the trouble of preparing a meal and the dishwashing that comes with it... hehe
