The power of music is amazing.. it can affect you and everything around. either in a positive or negative way. I think that when you sing words.. that you wrote.. or play a song with an instrument it holds music power.. The is even a legend of magical bards.. they were like wizards who used music to affect change in the world through magic. I believe this can be true, and i also think Bard magic is very powerful. What do you all think of this?

The power of words is illustrated in many believes, I do believe that they hold the key to many of the universes secrets. Perhaps you might like to check out the Order of Bards, Ovates & Druids if you haven't already :)

I have never heard of the Order Of Bards. I would like to learn more about them. I sing..and write lyrics. I wish I could play the harp.. or Piano though, that would be great.

That is awesome. I love music, and to sing. So that is why I aspire to be a bard. I think they are very wonderful. Music has always had great power in it...

OBOD http://www.druidry.org is the largest organization for bards, ovates and druids in the UK. I believe the American equality is Ar nDraiocht Fein (ADF) http://www.adf.org They are both reconstructionist orders (that is, they are trying to piece ancient practice together). I have never pick up any of their courses, but the list of things they cover will be very interesting to a bard in training :)

Music has healing and soothing power, even if you listen to taped music - it can touch you in ways that a speech may not.
