My first day at work.

I decided to return to the world of the working. I am not sure that was the greatest idea, but I had this hair brained idea that I wanted to make money and not be bored at home and turn into a hermit. So, today was my first day back to work. Let me say this job brings new meaning to monotony. I chose to take a job with little challenge so I wouldn't bring work home with me anymroe and I would still have time for my family. So, it's quite a lot less than what I am accustomed to making, which is no big deal, but OMG, I wanted ot scream. We are highly encouraged to be quiet during working hours, no radio, just silence. I have about 5 papercuts, my cuticles are tore up from sorting and matching papers today, all day. That is all I did. Sort and match, sort and match, place in alphabetical order. Over and over and over again. So, I started singing songs that I remembered in my head challenging myself to remember the words. Funny thing is...I can still remember every word to Run To The Hills by Iron Maiden. I suppose Heavy Metal will never die. Wow....the useless things that run through my head lol!

It's still really quiet but I am learning what I can and can't get away with. I hope that once all this filing gets done we can start doing something more challenging! I will be on tonight. Good luck with your new job. Maybe today will be a little better. I always feel like I'm being watched when starting a new job. Then I get nervous and sometimes make mistakes. I'm still working and love my job. I get to deal with the public and most people are in a good mood as I work at a sporting complex. They are there to have fun. Staying home works for a day or 2 and then I am about to climb the walls. I have things to do here but get bored letting the dog in and out and having the cat under my feet. Keep singing away at work and think about your myLot friends while you are sorting and matching.

I understand what you mean about getting squirrely at home. I tend to feel that way myself often when I was staying at home. That sounds like fun where you work! Things are starting to pick up a bit at work. It is still boring but at least I am not falling over on my desk into a deep sleep hahaha! However today might be different. I didn't get much sleep and I am so tired! Thanks for responding.

Oh, I hope things start to get better! The longer you're at it, the easier it will become easier to entertain yourself.

I think that it is great that you decided to go out into the world...and I think that you will really enjoy working as long as you like the place and the people that you work with...and it should be really fun for you...if you really do want to go back out and work because you can make anything enjoyable...so i really wish you good luck

Thanks for those words of encouragement. Everyone seems very nice there and I think I will like working with these people. I just need to adjust to not having so much responsibility and being told what to do as opposed to being in a position where I handled my own work and didn't have to answer to anyone. It's a big transition, but this is something I need. Thanks for resonding!

Whatever happened that day, it's great that you did try. I think we can give ourselves the fun of working as long as we are enthusiastic about it. The work may be boring. But the connection with people and this experience will add something new to life. May you enjoy it.
