People Power - Revolution

Manila, Makati, Mendiola all over the street the people are marching for a protest to call for the Pres. of the Philippines to step down. The President is not listening anymore and is not afraid. It seems the protest is helpless and will not get any result. Maybe even a bloodshed will not a final cry for truth and expelling the corruption and grabing of power. Money seems to be the reason for all this chaos and unrest. Many are filled with anger shouting for truth and transparency. I think they will not get it. What better way to get a peaceful resolve? All sector of the society is calling for her to step down. Even if daily the street will be filled with protest nothing will happen. It seems the cry fall on deaf ears. Are the leaders of the country do not feel the pain of the poor? It is no wonder because the rich are sleeping on an air conditioned room. Even in daytime they are comfortable. They are sleeping on a bed of ill-gotten wealth.

GMA will not step down. She knows how to use her power and she knows how to use her people. She's very smart!

How true. She is surrounded with her faithful friends and she is buying power at the expense of the money for improving the condition of the majority. Another dictatorship, another leader similar to the underdevelop countries. Is greed for power an evil? Who can stop this cycle of corruption? It seems since the time the government was established we never really had an honest to gooodness democracy.

Well all of us should wake up from this reality in our society. The answers are all there to bite us but no one dares to take the lead.

Too many intelligent people in the country but many are fearful and do not have the will power to take the lead. The people are shouting in the street. How true in Jesus time there was not a real political leader? The people in His time is also under oppression of the Romans. They were hoping for a liberation but the real freedom is in the heart of the citizens. Jesus liberated them from false gods. If you want to have a clean and honest government begin it with yourself then your family then to the community.

I think we are already in a stage were majority is already tired of hearing people power and when the people succeeds in having it toppled everything goes back to where it is. We have had two EDSA revolts and we were hopeful that we would replace the one seated with a good leader but it failed. Now they are asking again for another one at what cost and we may just be putting in another crook in the making so why fuzz about having another round of EDSA or Makati revolt. It will just be another round of corrupt and crooked politicians taking advantage of the situation.

I think that it is a very good thing that the President will not heed calls for her to step down. Recent developments are showing that this Jun Lozada is just an opposition bait looking for public attention. No evidence whatsoever has been presented and the grand plan of the opposition to overthrow the government at all cost is nothing but a failure. I think that everything the opposition is doing right now is nothing but cheap politicking and the unthinking public just seems to buy it. Your statement that all sectors of society are asking her to step down is reckless generalization. More accurately put, there are a lot of people who want her to step down, but the thinking and educated sector of society, who believe in due process, still trust her.

Sadly this is what happens everywhere and has happened many times all over the world but the people should never ever give up. The more protests there are, the more pressure the president will feel and hopefully someone will step forward to give the people an alternative.
