Well my phobia isn’t going to help anyone overcome anything but I am sure I will find many sympathizers. My phobia is cockrophobia (if there is any term like this). Plain and simple it means an acute fear of the cockroach…yes the common household pest found all over the world. Its enough to cause a heart-attack on me and if someone wants to murder me without leaving a clue, a bottle of cockroaches upturned on me would do the trick in five minutes max.

Must say I was a little startled when I first viewed the phobia name Cockrophobia!...felt much elated when I continued to read on,had me concerned there for a second.

I am emetophobic (phobia of puke) and sadly I told some people this somewhere recently and I was badly mocked for it. No phobia is funny, no matter what the trigger is, they are all real and debilitating.

Ignorance is the breeding ground for prejudice, this is very unfortunate, and can be applied to so many issues. Have you tried to 'educate' your friends in regards to your phobia? If they are good friends I am sure they would take a interest.Including a couple of interesting sites you may be interested in,also a book 2007 "Living With Emetophobia" Nicolette Heaton-Harris ISBN 1843105365. emetophobia.bravepages.com/emetophobia.htm This site looks good for sharing with other sufferers. www.habbo.com/home/emetophobic Good luck with it,Cheers.

I have a phobia of being in big crowds...Everyone talking at the same time drives me crazy....So if I'm going to be where there is a crowd and its in a enclosed building I don't stay long...

Can realte to the sound issue, experienced for a few moments three years or so back,I was sitting at the computer, the t.v. was on,and all of a sudden I felt everything was closing in on me,a cacophony.Hubby just mentioned he experiences the same as you in crowds, come to think of it now, so do I,not to any extreme, enough though to remove myself from venue.Interesting!
