I had the opportunity to visit Bunker Hill last summer. It was a real moving experince for me. Since I am a real history buff and old enough to understand there are always two sides to a coin, I would love to hear the story behind the American Revolution from the point of view of someone from England! Thanks!

me too! that's one thing (and not the only thing) that sucks about being american. our history lessons are loaded with patriotic brain washing crap that makes our country out to be some sort of saint nation that has only done good since it was founded. you never get to hear about the other sides of the story. that's why I want to see that "letters from iwo jima" movie, because it depicts WWII from the japanese perspective. it wasn't promoted nearly as much as "flags of our fathers" over here...but i actually did see that one...because i was in it! haha

As a history buff I love to watch the history channel and listen/read about events in history. The events are one thing...the people's view (who were there) is even more interesting! I guess I don't share your idea of 'brainwashing' as I see the United States as the best country there is on the planet. The idea that history is wrong (although anyone can argue translation) would be a real slap to that idea. Were the Japanese at Iwo the heroes? Or were my grandparents who stormed that beach after being attack first at Pearl? On the same note, the enemies of this generation, terrorists (espeicailly noting those who killed thousands of innocent people in the Twin Towers)...will some Hollywood producer,on day, create a movie to show their heroic struggle again an overbearing evil super power? What do you think?
