There's this obnoxious commercial..

...it's for an online job search website.. It says "only 100k jobs for 100k people".. Which to me means the rest of the people (to them) is riffraff.. I think it'd be ok to say only 100k jobs.. but what makes someone a "100k person"? Surely it'd be better to say - "this is a job search website for 100k jobs and those qualified for them". I don't think anyone's wages make them superior over others, which to me is what this commercial seems to be saying! What if I don't have a wage? Does that make me a zero person? Wish I had a link! Maybe you've seen this commercial, if so, did it rub you the wrong way? Or you never noticed?

I certainly don't make 100k, and I'm pretty sure there aren't any jobs like that I'm qualified for either. So, to these people, I don't exist. Yay.
This commercial does sound really annoying. I mean, I can see how they're basically appealing to snobbery to sell their product, and maybe it's even good marketing in a way, but definitely not good humanity.

I did see that commercial and it hit me the wrong way the very first time I saw it. I get the gist, if you want a high paying job and you have the qualifications, you don't want to have to dig around to find those jobs. That particular website has them ready and available. But the way they put it was just rude. It's like everyone else goes around saying ain't and scratching their rears, thinking they too can have a corporate job as a CEO. The commercial seems to want to put people in their 'proper' place. Like you said, if they had just reworded it, it would have been fine.
