My dog seems to love snow. He would rather be outside in it then in the house, or when hes tied up out there you never see him in the coop hes also laying in the snow. Does you dog love snow? Or perfer to be inside? I have to bring him in tho cause I feel bad leaving him on that chain all the time. However he wont stay in the yard now ugh.

I have a rottweiler. He loves to run and jump and play in the snow. He will kick it up with his paws until it is in a pile then shove his head into it. But when he is done playing he wants in and he wants in NOW. I had a husky that I couldn't drag kicking and barking into the house when the snow was falling but I guess that was to be expected.

Yeah, my rottie and staffie (Roxie and Mocha) both love the snow. The problem is they trounce so hard, they soon turn the back yard into a giant muddy slush puddle. I have to bring them in after about 20 minutes, then the back yard is off limits for a couple of days.

Star and Hemi - My babies Star{black} and Hemi{brown} playing in the snow.
I have a 1 1/2 year old Australian Shepard who LOVES the snow. If I would let her be out all day she would be. Every time I let her out she runs mock 5 through the yard in circles. LOL. She eats it while shes running. She tries to catch it falling from the sky. Shes a hoot to watch. Now our other dog is a 8 month old puggle. She is little and dosent have a long coat. She HATES the snow. She protests on the porch about going potty. As soon as she goes shes heads back for the house. Now some days she gets this idea she can chase Star through the yard. Well she dosent realize star jumps like 5-6 feet between steps. Hemi goes running after her and then Smashes into the snow! LOL!! Here is a Picture of them in the snow.

I have two dogs that hate the snow. The first is an Italian Greyhound, and like IG's should be, she is very thin -- no fat to keep her warm -- and has very little hair. She will stick her nose out the door and tuck her tail in between her legs and turn back around and head for her favorite spot on the heat vent. If she does venture out, she can hardly walk for shivering. She used a litter box so she doesn't have to potty outside. My Schnauzer does have to potty outside, but he would rather hold it than go out in the snow. I usually have to firmly command him to go potty, shut the door behind him, and watch out the window to see if he goes. Usually, he will sit by the door and immediately bark to come back in. So, I end up going out and standing with him and he will finally potty and we both come inside shivering. He doesn't like rain either and thunder frightens him.

I live in the south so we don't get a whole lot of snow here. But, this year, we had 2 pretty good snows (and I am from the Midwest - Ohio so if I was impressed by the amount of snow we got, it really was quite a bit for the south). The first day, the flakes were the size of quarters and when I went to let my dog out, he got hit in the face with some flakes, gave me a look over his shoulder like I did something uncool, turned around and brought his butt back in because he wasn't happy with what was going on. Then, later I let him out and he was fine. The next snow we got a few days later, he actually went outside and laid down in it to hang out, sniff the air, fart a few times, smell the air a few more times and relax. He laid out there in the snow for about 20 minutes. I finally had to call him into the house. So, he likes it, just as long as the flakes aren't the size of quarters and hitting him in the head!

Both of my dogs love the snow. It's funny to watch them playing in it, we get lots of snow where I am from so when they are playing in it all you see are two butts with tails attached running around until they come up for air that is...lol

My Rat Terriers Love the snow. We're in VT so it's pretty darn snowy here. My smallest dog, Radar is 10 lbs and will chase sleds up and down the hill and catch snowballs. My girl Honey, she likes to dive into the powdery snow head first and pop up like a gopher. My boy Pyro also likes to go snow bank diving. :) My dogs live in the house, nothing cures the cabin fever like a romp outside!
