I had it done 4 years ago and it was the best thing I have ever done! After wearing contacts since Jr. high and not being able to see the alarm clock in the morning, it is so nice to be able to see!

Congrats! I tell everyone the same thing...it was one of the best things I have ever done for myself too! I wore glasses starting around 7 until I was 31. I wore contacts on and off...mostly off...because I struggled to get used to them. I had a strong astigmatism so, contacts were really hard to fit back when I wore them. I love being able to see leaves on trees, signs on the road and how very vivid colors really are. You never really know how truly vivid colors are until you see them through unassisted perfect vision. Even contacts and glasses don't help you see how truly beautiful colors are in the world. Did you notice that too?

Congrats on having the surgery! It is truly the best thing I ever did. I can't imagine having to wear contacts day in and day out! My eyes feel so much better without the dryness that contacts cause. I see better than I ever did.

I have only very minor short-sightedness. Therefore, it's less significant for me. Besides, I am afraid of undergoing operation, although this it not a major one. I have a colleague who is going to perform the laser operation in two weeks time. Some of my other colleague told her about the risk and advise her to think twice about it. I doubt she will ever listen, because it has been her ambition to do the LASEK all this while. But it's very risk and nowadays the only thing that stop people from doing it is the cost itself.

The cost of such operation is expensive for many people. My colleague have been saving since half a year ago. Luckily she found a promotion package which is offering discount price and they are willing to accept installment. How attractive! Just curious, do you have any uncomfortable feeling after undergoing the operation? Besides, did they tell you about any period of guarantee for the operation? Here we guarantee up to 10 years. Thanks for your good wishes to my colleague!

There are risks but, it is pretty low risk, like you said. But, it is expensive and I can see that being a problem for some people. It was one of the best things that I ever did for myself! I have better eye sight now than I did with glasses! It really was a great thing to have done for myself! I wish your colleague luck!

I would love to have it done, but they say I don't qualify. I have a condition in my eyes that they aren't producing enough oxygen and it is pulling it from the blood vessels and it is damaging my cornea. I had to go a whole year without contacts, and I just recently got them back, but I can't wear them everyday, I have to wear my glasses for like 3-4 days and then wear my contacts 1-2 days.....etc....I so wish I could get the surgery, hopefully one of these days they will come out with new procedures. Bummed for now.....

I'm sorry to hear that jlcook! But, they are always perfecting it and tweaking it just a little more to include more people. Even I would have been denied if I tried to get it done 2 - 3 years before I actually decided to due to my level of astigmatism. So, don't give up hope!
