Are men speed-dialing infertility by talking hours a day on their cellphone? A new study suggests that might be the case, but before you throw out your cellphones, you should know that the data are quite preliminary. Cellphones emit radiofrequency electromagnetic waves.Scientists report potential adverse effects of the waves of the brain, heart, endocrine system, and DNA.This is according to Ashok Agarwal, director of the Andrology Lab at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. Argawal studied 361 men aged under 40,who were being evaluated for infertility;men whose personal or family history might explain a low count or other sperm abnormalities were excluded. The patients were divided into groups based on how long they use their cellphone each day. Then the scientists analyzed the men's semen and found a strong association between length of time spent on cellphone and sperm count quality. Those men who talked more than four hours a day had lower counts and more poor "swimmers" and abnormally formed sperm. One reason could be the heat generated be the phones; sperm production is sensitive to temperature, scientists say.Scientist, however, did not ask if they use other potential sources of electromagnetic waves exposure and how they use their cellphones while talking.Next to their ear? In a pocket while using a handset? There are hundreds of variables that affect conclusion. But scientists think that in order to affect sperm, the cellphones should be close to the sperm while being used.

Obviously this isn't anything new to us and anything that is madmade is going to have a bad effect or anything that mothernature has made. I think the thing that men really have to worry about when worrying about technology and their sperm is latops. I know how much heat laptops generate as I often site with it on my lap and sometimes if I have knee in close proximity to the fan then it can feel like my skin is actually being burned. It doesn't sound like this survery was very good and didnt discover anything new. I think for it to really show anything it would have to stop the men from using anything else that may effect the sperm count including the heat generated by mobiles.
