Minnesota DFL passes Record Tax increase on the Poor and Middle Class

Is Minnesota showing us what will happen when the Democratics take control of both houses of government? They passed a 6.6 Billion Dollar tax increase over ten years to fund mass transit - mainly light rail. The tax increase comes in higher gas taxes, vehicle registration fees and sales tax. For a party that claims to be for the little guy these taxes hit the poor and middle class the hardest. The funds are to help expand the light rail system that is only able to generate 25% of the operating costs and has to be subsized 75% by the state. This is only the first part of the budget process they still plan to provide some from of Health Insurance to everyone at tax payer expense. Is this what will happen if the Democratics get elected. Rep Rangle has already proposed a 3 trillion tax increase package to fund National Health Insurance among other things. As a country can we afford this type of taxing and spending?
