You used to think of her as your bestfriend- the person you ran to when you couldn't decide which dress to wear. And on days when you felt like everything that could go wrong did go wrong, all it took was a trip to the mall with her to make things fel right again. Lately, though it seems like she's been getiing on your case about everything- from the details on your newest crush to the intricacies of your telephone habits. Suddenly it downs on you. She's not you bestfriend. She's your mom. Good thing, your relationship with her is just like the one you have with your real bestfriend. mom says:You can go to the party, but you have to be home by midnight. you say:The party only starts at midnight. mom says:Keep your grades up so you can be a nurse/doctor/lawyer. you say:I don't even want to be a nurse/doctor/lawyer. mom says:There are more productive ways to spend your time than talking on the phone. you say:I spend my time more productively when i'm talking on the phone. mom says:You can date in the future. you say:If i dont date, i won't have a future!

Its alway the case. Mom is alway mom, they alway treated their teens like baby. Try explaining to her I think she will understand.
