You can stop laughing now, I know, I can hear you all, lol!
I see all these pictures or photo's on myLot that you can download with your discussions, but where do they all come from?
Do you have a free site that I'm not aware of? I "Googled" free pictures and got all kinds of websites but I'm leary about downloading from them. Same with free photo's.
Just thought I'd ask, and Thank You for any help in advance.

I've only put up a few pictures, but most of them are my own pets and such.
I think I did post one that wasn't my own, and I just did a search on what I was looking for.
I do like WebShots and PhotoBucket when I'm looking for nice photos. They have some really good photographers there.

Thank You ebsharer from the bottom of my heart, lol!...I did not want to just use pictures or photo's without knowing for sure if I could or not. I'm sure alot of others will love this information too! I just wasn't sure if they all said they were a copy right or not...now I know.
I will try Photobucket now that I know it's OK....Thanks again, from me and anyone else who needed this information!

I usually have fun making images to use here. I often use my own pictures or free images from the web and then arrange them the way I want them to look.
IT is important to pay attention to coypwrite, no one would want their work to be used without permission. But there are many copywrite free images out there. It's also important to remember that even if a photograph is not marked with copywrite it still doesn't mean that it isn't or that it can be used without permission. WHen I use photographs I use my own, it's safer.
But most times I use just composites of images.

I understand about copywrite and wouldn't want to infringe on this in the least..that's what I'm really concerned about to begin with. You mention that there are many copywrite free images out there, but some are not marked. So how do you know are allowed to use them arkaf61?, if you don't mind me asking. It's so confusing sometimes, lol!

Thank You so very much arkaf61, for all the useful information you gave me...I will certainly check all those sites out and carefully read all the instructions pertaining to the photo's.
I don's post discussions too much, but thought it would be fun to have a few pictures once in a while to go along with them. I ususally just reply to discussions.
And yes, I also was spelled copyright wrong, haha, as I was in a hurry answering you just before I was leaving for work...duh. We all have too much on our minds all the time, such a fast paced life anymore.
But again, I want to Thank You for your kindness in sharing those links...it's greatly appreciated.

I only put up personal pictures that I have the rights to.
I thought it is against the TOS to post pictures that don't belong to you.
Don't know if I read this correctly, however, because I see many pics here on mylot posted that I know the mylotter does not have exclusive rights to.

Exactly.....I thought it was against policy to so I don't want to do anything wrong.....that's why I thought I was the only one here that didn't know where to get pictures from.......and actually, I still don't, haha. I do not want to infringe on anyone's rights.

The photos I use are what I take my ownself of pets, nature, people etc. I live in the mountains and take walks and look for photo opportunity always take my camera along. I come home and use a thumb drive to transfer the photos from my camera to my computer and put them in special files and upload them from there to different site.

Oh Celanith, you are soooo lucky to live in the mountains....I bet you have taken some beautiful pictures, and best yet, they are one of a kind.
Right now, all I see is about a foot of snow and my car covered in it, lol!....no mountains here unfortunately, other than mountains of snow.....Thanks for responding!

i dont search the net for pics, i just use pictures of things i have taken myself like my pets or family etc. i just feel that it feels more real for me doing it that way and sometimes the photos that i attach explain the posts better. if that makes sense

Hi ElicBxn...I guess I have to just dig out the old digital and take some myself.
I wish I could afford a new one but alas, that will have to wait for better times. I've received some good links from people if you'd like to see and check them out for yourself. Thanks for responding and take care!

Every photo I have posted here are from my own collection. That includes my profile page, interests, discussions and responses.
I am a confirmed shutter bug and photojournalist...so I have a huge stock pile of photos to draw from.

Wow, what a lucky person you are to have such talent...good for you!
I guess I'll just have to take my camera with me whenever I leave the house. You just never know when that perfect shot is going to present itself.
Thanks for responding and take care.

Yah, most images that people post on MyLot were stolen from other sources. Just because an image is posted on the internet does NOT mean it is free for anyone to use!!! The owner of the image still owns all copyrights and distribution rights! It is against MyLot's TOS to do this, but most people do it anyway. When you post these images, you risk having your MyLot account terminated (not to mention being sued by the copyright owner of the image you're stealing!). The best way to avoid this is just to post images that you yourself have taken!

I understand all that and wouldn't think of infringing on anyone's copy rights. I thought maybe there was a free site somewhere that I didn't know about...that's what I was asking. Thanks.
