Microsoft announces new problems for us: IE8 beta

It seems that Microsoft has did it again. The beta testing of IE8 has been announce, and honestly, all I can do is moan in pain. It might not seem like it, but IE7 is a wreak. The team that built it claimed that this was because they were tried to meet international standard for once. That was completely bull. As a web developer, I know too well just how much of that is a lie. So now, instead of fixing the problems, they are going to create more problems by rolling out something else. Brilliant. Are you for or against IE? (Typed on a firefox browser)

Firefox 3 already reached beta 3 with whole lot of features and functionality. Sure Firefox 3 would be much more tougher competition for IE. So Microsoft need to release a new version. If I remember there was a big gap between IE 6 and IE 7 release but not between IE 7 and IE 8. Well that itself shows the reason behind the IE 8 release and it is competition and to gain the lost browser market of IE. Seriously Microsoft is making their product worser in each new releases. Vista is a good example for that. I have not seen much adoption of IE 7 anywhere. Hopefully IE 8 would be better. But my vote goes for Firefox. Being a web developer Firefox have been an immense help to me with all those wonderful extensions.

I've honestly never tried firebug before (the people I work for use dreamweaver as a standard) but I'll seriously look into it (it does work in Ubuntu right?)

but why are you suprised? microsoft are known for this. Security over research is such that to get the advantage on the opposition, microsoft will release a product long before it is complete then patch it with updates. Yes it creates more problems for you, but short term at leastr it increases profits

Actually I'm not really surprised, more like disgusted. I have to deal with their sloppy excuse for browser everyday, and now their are going to make a (likely worse) version.

As a user, I have used Firefox for a long time. It is faster and better than MSIE. If I need to use Microsoft's browser (which is very rare but some sites simply don't work on Firefox), I can always use the "Switch Rendering Engine" on a particular tab to emulate MSIE. Unfortunately, if one is a web designer, it is essential to make one's sites compatible with all the main browsers, including MSIE. As mentioned, there are a handful who still refuse to make their sites compatible with Firefox. That number is thankfully decreasing day by day.

Its ok, normally the content in those websites suck anyway XD I'm both web designer and developer, and honestly I develop in firefox. Only when I'm done, do I double check in IE.

well this is the standard of the biggest software company in the world. They are consistent about making bread affairs and approved it with this. The previous version of Internet explorer was a hopeless thing. Frankly speaking people who are using Firefox had no reason to switch to Internet Explorer. It had a lot of work is in very less features when you compare it and slightly to its competitors and that is the reason I think it lost its popularity. After making a product for which you to pay you should provide something which is unique. The Firefox is a free to use software is yet they give you so many good things well as you get none when you're using Internet Explorer survival people. So why would anyone switch to the new version.

Really they're coming up with an IE8? I don't even have the 7.0 yet haha. I really don't like the pace of all these "new versions" popping up faster than I can adjust. I'm not impressed with Windows Vista. I found the new Yahoo beta to be too complicated. I like things simple and user friendly.

I installed Firefox when I bought my computer 2 months ago, and it is the only browser I now use. I think it is faster than IE, I now only use IE when I can't see a page with Firefox. But who knows maybe IE8 will be much better.

i have gave up IE,i use maxthon which based on IE core and firefox for surfing internet.cos of ie high memory possessed and it's so slow to open a webpage,i cant play games when i open 4 or more pages.but it's not when i used maxthon instead of IE7.0.firefox is the most security browser of the day,so i bet many people like using it,so i do.

I like maxthon too but it seems to be piggy backing on IE's engine too much though. When I'm forced to use IE, I normally use maxthon
