You can have both, Some bank offers a passbook savings deposit with ATM. Well anyway when we talk on more convenient, I prefer ATM because you can access your account anywere. You can also use it for shopping.

If you aim is to save and not spend, then the passbook should be used. But if your aim is to spend the money and not save, then you should use atm for convenience sake.

well, it is better to have both but if i hacve to choose then i would prefer an ATM than a pass book because i can always ask for a bank statement whereas, if i only have a passbook then i won't have universal access to my money in anywhere i go.

I don't know why in our country they only give either ATM or passbook only. It would be good to have both because with passbook you can update your account and monitor your in and out transactions. On second thought, I would prefer ATM for my spending and passbook for savings. With ATM you can carry it wherever you go and with passbook sometimes you can't be bothered to go to the bank and queue up withdraw before you go shopping. It would be a waste of time. Thus, I prefer passbook for savings.

I prefer both. I use savings with a passbook for my personal savings and ATM for our budget.

If we are talking about convenience, of course, ATM Savings Account. How can you make a transaction in the middle of the evening? But if we talk about security, I will go for Passbook...

I should only be using passbook because I am an impulsive buyer but I prefer ATM accounts because I have going to the bank and having to wait for my turn to be served. ATM is indeed more convenient and safer to carry around than cash.

i have my account in BPI and i only have my ATM card. i would say i prefer having ATM. i don't really have the patience in falling in line and waiting for the teller to process deposits and withdrawals. before my mom always asked me to withdraw some money from her bank and i always take 1 hour waiting for my turn to withdraw. but when you have a ATM, you can just go to any places and look for an ATM machine and withdraw money. im oly talking about withdrawals. but if you want to deposit and your after saving money, like what the others said, its better to have a passbook.

well. i rather prepare to have this atm card rather than passbook. It's more convenient, because anywhere and anytime you want to withdraw, you can have it,even during holidays.Having no problem also, wherein you can see alsoyour money standing balance.

savings with an atm card is more convenient because you can withdraw outside of the bank. but if you're serious about curtailing your expenditures, you should prefer the passbook. it's always easy to withdraw cash with an atm card than with a passbook.
