What do you think of the new budget? I think it stinks, like usual. Especially the part of the budget that allows you to save $5000 a year in your bank account and not pay any taxes on it. This is on top of the RRSP contributions you are allowed to make, which is on average about $6000 a year. Well I personally don;t know too many people that can afford to buy the $6000 a year RRSP,s let alone save another $5000 a year in their bank accounts. That would mean putting away $500 a month for RRSP's and another $450 a month into your savings account. Now tell me, who can afford to put away almost $1000 a month and still live. You would have to be making a lot of money to be able to do this. So again the budget is only meant for the rich people, not the average joe like me. Just another tax shelter for the rich. So when is it our turn to pay less taxes? The every day hard working people like us. What do you think about this?

I was just talking to my dad about this today. It is a great way to save taxes, if you can afford to give this to your children while you are alive, but you have to be well off to take advantage.
I'm with most of you, after mortgage payments, utilities, groceries ect, I'm lucky if I could save anything.
Once again stupid people will fawn over this, even the ones who can't afford to ever take advantage. But once again it will only benefit the well off of our country. Us little guys are still being screwed.

Boy did you HIT the nail on the head! Who can Save anything in this country anymore, especially any family that has to be double income.They tell you invest, save...How??? they keep taking more out of everyone's pocket.I've been a homemaker my whole marriage and am now considering a part-time job to help with Bills and we do not live extravegantly at all. The Utility company's are slowly killing everyone and gas well lets not go there and the Government has their License to steal!!!!This Rant could go on for days,LOL. The are at the point where they have nothing left! What really Kills me to is the New HS Grads, if they don't get scholarships and if the parents can't afford Schooling they either can't go or are saddle with huge debt from loans to get educated...they are in the hole before they even get started in life....MADDENING and not fair!

It's just another benefit for those are already at the top of the food chain! I also think the budget stinks, but I am not surprised!
