It's not an issue that gets much attention, but the government has the right to seize your house, bussiness, and/or land, forcing you into the street. This mighty power, called "eminent domain," is enshrined in the US Constitution's Fith Amendment:'....nor shall private property be takenfor public use without just compensation."Every single state constitution also stipulates that a person whose property is taken must be justly compensated and that the propertymust be put to public use. This should mean that if your house is smack-dab in the middle of a proposed highway, the government can take it, pay you market value, and build the highway.Do you believed that?

Yes, I do believe that. It happened here just a few years ago. People fought them, but lost. It is sad that they can force you out.

You have to be given time and be notified before it can be done. That gives you plenty of time to plant poison oak, cudsu, etc on the land, or plow it with salt. If it's your business being taken, drive away all your customers do something so awful that they perminently shiver and warn people away. Strip all the wiring out of the house, put holes in floor, walls and ceiling. What ever it takes to make things as difficult and painful for them as possible. Make it impossible for it to ever be used again if you can. In that way, you would get the last laugh in the end. I would dare say it would even be worth doing time for. Here's my reasoning for such a harsh way of dealing with it. It was yours, if you are being forced out, no one should have it. "It's either mine or nobodies." Or, the more common saying, "If I can't have it, no one can."
