http://www.theliteracysite.com/clickToGive/selectecard.faces?siteId=6 "The Literacy Site is proud to announce that one new book will be donated to a child in need for every "Give a Free Book" e-card viewed, for a limited time. Here's how it works: You send the "Give a Free book" e-card to family and friends. When your e-card is opened, First Book and our premier sponsor, Pi Beta Phi, will provide a new book for a child in need. So, when you send this e-card greeting, you're doing more than just saying hello--you're giving the gift of literacy. Spread the word and be sure to forward it on!" Here you can simply send an e-card to a friend or family member and sponsors will donate 1 book to a person in need! This is a great initiative and I think it would be great if as many people as possible would take part.

Thanks! I, too, will do just that! In another charity issue on literacy, local libraries and literacy guilds are always taking donations. Spring cleaning is almost here... de-clutter and give what you don't want/use anymore. I donated a bunch of my kids' older books (not the faves, mind you... I kept those...) to a women's shelter for the children still in need. Thanks again for bringing up this excellent cause.
