Oh I defeniatly imagine myself in the story, I don't always imagine myself as the main character though. Like, when it's a guy I don't imagine myself as the main character, but I will imagine myself as a female in the story, or I'll just imagine that I am watching this all unfold. I defeniatly have the imagination to picture anything that is going on in a story I'm reading. If the main character is a girl, I usually do put myself in any situation she is in, and picture it all happening to me. It can be quite fun! lol

You are right! I also do that at times. I imagine that I am watching the story unfold right before my very eyes...

Yeah! Kind of like a movie =P But I'm not sure everyone can do it this way, because I think you have to have a really good imagination! =P

I don't know if I see myself as the characters, but I sure get caught up in what is going on, and they become my hero or heroine. When I am reading a grand novel I am totally in that time and space. I feel what they are feeling, I taste the food they are eating, I hear the sounds that they hear and I hurt when they hurt. I get swept away. It is so awesome because you get to visit places you know you will never see in life.

I agree... I think that this is why a lot of people read books... That they are able to make their imagination work!

Depends. Sometimes, I'm the main ppl. At others, I'm just one of the lesser characters. At others, I'm just a sort of watcher, observing what's going on, and listening to their deepest, most personal thoughts.

Hello dear friend. Yeah, I could see how far your mind could go with the characters in the novel when you are deeply absorbed in it. I think that it is the same to me while reading some very interesting novels only. lol. Happy reading.

Oh definitely. Sometimes I find myself dreaming about the story when I fall asleep, and get to "play" my favorite character. It's why reading is so great.

I have actually done this before..I would be reading a book or watching a movie or either playing a video game and i would imagine to myself that it was me that all this was happening to...and i know that it may sound weird but i really do do that and it makes whatever im doing that much better...i think everyone does at one time or the other...

I don't really think of myself as a character in the book, but I do become entrenched in the story. If it is a very good book, I am terribly disappointed when it ends. I feel as though my good friends have left me and I will never get to hear of them again. The one that really wrenched, was the Harry Potter series. I have nothing to look forward to as far as that is concerned. Makes me a little sad. You just get so involved with them and you want to know what happened next.
