When will it work?

I decided that the time had come to start my own business, it's something I've wanted for years so I thought go for it while I've got a chance. Ok so I've started a typing from home business in the UK but so far have only had one enquiry about work and 4 from people who are looking for jobs (obviously I had to turn them away). Its been going for about 2/3 weeks now and I've adverised on the internet and in a free ad mag thing, I've got loads of cards to put up which I've also started doing, but am I being to impatient. I don't expect to get loads of work overnight but a bit would be nice. Any ideas what I can do to kick start it.
