There has been some controversary over the name of this candidate for president because it sounds like the name of a terrorist or an Islamic. What do you think about his name? Does it affect you in your liking or disliking him as a future president?

the name is just a name...he cant help what his parents called him...it is his background that bothers me. He is a muslim...we are at war with MUSLIM terrorists...does anyone besides me see the danger here??? The LAST thing we need is a muslim president. We are either going to fight them over there, or we are going to fight them over here, and what do you think is going to happen if he takes office?

His parents are Muslim but he says he's not. I just think it would be strange to have a President Barack Hussein Obama in office and besides the name he has little experience. Maybe he is the antichrist?

Goldeneye, that was an extremely bigoted thing you said there. That's putting Muslims and Muslim terrorists into one category. That's just pure idiocy and stereotyping. Even if he were Muslim, which he's not, religion isn't meant to play a part in politics. AT ALL. It angers me to hear that religion is still playing part in politics when the US is meant to be a secular country, right?

With all the crises in the Middle East (ME) going on right now, they need a super wedge to get into the back door of the supreame super power, United States. What better way than to do it through the president? I know he claims to be Christan and not Muslim, but that still doesn't set right with me. The ports have/are in the hands of the Arabs so they can easily float right up to our shores. If HE's in power and the Muslims want to take over...all he'd have to do is take away our rights and leave us wide opened. In other words, it could be easy for him to ever betray us. Hopefully I'm so wrong and let me be wrong. But, it's bad enough that the Wal-Mart is catering to them, as well as the work out gym at Harvard (or was it Yale?)...but little baby steps at a time. Too bad there's no accomodations for the Jews.

I don't normally talk politics because I have my opnion and its not going to change. Just like I wouldn't expect yours to change. I don't say that for any reason other then people have a tendancy to get mad at others opnions. So with that being said I'll tell you my opinion. I think any way you look at it we are screwed. The actual names of the people have nothing to do with how I feel its there morals, values, and respect. Look at Hiliary ... She is married to some one who cheated on her to me that shows lack of respect for herself and if you don't have respect for yourself then how do you respect others. Also I think it would be a conflit of intrest for her to be president. What if Bill influances her to do things that he wants to do? He got his term he shouldn't have another. As for Barack ... I think that he has played his "I went to a Cathloic school" card too much. He went for 2 years! I think that hes is a lier by omission. As for the rest well they don't have any thing that stands out good or bad. Just one womans opinion.

It doesn't have a big effect. What voters are thinking right now are the candidates credentials. Obama has a very good political and professional background. Many people like him so much because of his charisma and charm that drives voters to like him more and more. Also, he is very sincere in his words.

Yes but charisma and charm can't run this already troubled country. The office of the president shouldn't be a "personality contest" The person with the best interest in the people, by the people and for the people, should be President!
