i still remember one incident where my mother became a victim of those sellers going door to door. it happened when i was still in high school, 3 ladies came to our house carrying big bags and boxes with a logo of a famous shampoo brand, those ladies offered the shampoo to my mother at almost 50% off, naturally my mother would be awed thinking she can get big savings if she buy those shampoo. so she bought 2 boxes of shampoo in a 100ml bottle each. when i saw the boxes with the shampoo logo and ask what was that she told me excitedly that she bought them in a very cheap price at almost half the original price. being a stubborn little lady i told her that those maybe fake and we might get allergy but she did not listen to me and instead put them in our cabinet to be use after our old shampoo ran out. because of that suspicious thinking and the fear of getting a hair loss i avoid using the cheap product and opted to use our old shampoo. unfortunately one day i ran out of my shampoo and has no choice but to use that cheap one. to my dismay my hair got rough and dry and i got an itchy scalp. i told my mother about it and that's when she admit the same experience to me. she also told me that the shampoo even smell awful and thus she wanted to kill those ladies that sold her the products. my mother never bought cheap products in a door to door offer since then. :)

Hello djmarion! Well I have had many experiences when I either recieved fake items from someone or I have bought fake items froma store. One time where that I can remember really good when I recieved a fake gift from someone was in the seventh grade. I had just been going out with this guy for roughly three or four months and he fell in love with me. So around this time Valentine's Day was coming up and I guess he wanted to show me how much he truly cared for me so he buys me a fake necklace. When I saw the necklace I feel in love with it instantly because it was so beautiful and no one had ever done a nice gesture for me like that before. So I pranced around school for a whole month, teasing all the other seventh and eighth grade girls that had boyfrineds because their boyfriends didn't care enough to buy Teddy Bears, Jewelry and Candy. So one day when I was going to get in the shower I decided to take the chain off because my neck was feeling irriated, so come to find out my neck had a green rash on it from the necklace. When I went to school I couldn't be mad at him but I gave the chain back to him and told him it broke my out and when the others girls saw the rash they thought it was the funniest thing in the world. With that said djmarion NakitaLikely3617 is out!

I never tried to buy in any promotional door to door salesman cause I know that it is fake. But I do buy some products that are in cart that are also cheap but not a beauty products I can't risk my self using cheap and fake products for my personal use coz I know It may harm me and my family. Some products that sell in cart are batteries, light bulb, or some home products that are sometimes are disposal and can't used for a life time because it is cheap. That's why it is better to buy branded products that can be used longer than the cheap ones.

right! branded items may harm our pocket the first time but it saves a lot of pennies in the long run. cheap items usually don't last like the branded ones. even in clothing i observe that too.

When I was in high school I bought a cheap imitation of Ray Ban sunglasses. When my brother saw it, he informed me that such things do not have UV protection and can therefore be harmful to my eyes rather than protecting them. So I didn't bother to use those. Since then I only use original sunglasses with UV protection.

No, i never buy cheap fake items. For me, their products are really not good. Better to buy the original ones, its more expensive but all you need is its function and how its working... if you buy something cheaper, usually its easily damage or broken, you will spend money to buy the same product only. Compare to the original one, the quality is recognized and people believe to use those products. You will save more money.

I went on holiday to Tenerife once and one night got a tad drunk, weLl, well and truely actually lol, anyway I woke up in the morning with 5 fake rolex's and 4 fake gold chains, oh and a green neck and green wrists lol. On the other hand (pardon the pun) when I was in Bangkok I bought a fake Dunhill watch and I must say it lasted me 3 years and kept time excellently.

One of my co-workers recently received a Rolex from China from his brother(cost about $20). It looks exactly the same, even down to the way you change the time. The only trouble is that it dosen't keep very good time!
