Is The Moment Of Truth, going to far?

I started watching this show on the day it premiered on FOX and it was only curiosity that got me sucked in. As I was watching this show I began to wonder if it's actually worth it. On this show people are asked questions, very personal questions about their life an if they answer correctly they can win cash. What they do is they place these people on a lie detector way before the show airs, then when it does they come out and are asked things such as "If you had a chance to cheat on your significant other and you wouldn't get caught, would you do it?' The bad thing is that their family AND significant other are right there in the front row listening. One contetant was asked "Have you ever thrown up after a meal because you were afraid to gain weight?" something like that, and the more I saw the less I wanted to know. Sure some people won cash, but don't you think this ruins lives and relationships? Is this show going to far? I think it is.

I think it's awful. I can't believe these people are willing to risk their jobs, relationships, friendships...for a pretty measly payout. I watched part of a couple of episodes and it's worse than watching a train wreck.

Exactly, a train wreck is a great way of putting it. But I guess it's true that people will do anything for cash.

In a way it goes too far, but i think these people know what they are getting into when they sign up. Monday was the special episode that almost didn't get aired. She even said she wanted to do the show so the truth could come out. The sad thing was she admitted to loving someone else when she married her husband, thinking she should be married to her ex and to cheating on her husband. Then she missed a question and went home with nothing. But she chose to keep going on. They ask them the questions before they tape the show, she knew what the questions where going to be yet she decided to keep going.

I do think it goes to far. It also shows how greedy people are and they will do about anything for money.

At first I watched this show because I thought it would be really interesting but I never thought the questions would be geared toward destrying a person's relationships just to win half a million dollars. I mean the one where the woman was asked by her former boyfriend if she had the cahnce would she leave her husband to get back with him. When she answered yes to that I can't even imagine the pain and hurt the husband was going through at that minute and is still going through now. What if they have kids? If the marriage broke up because of this question on the show it would affet the kids too and when something has consequences like that i really think it has gone way to far.~D

I don't know why but i really like this show,i have watched it from day one...I would never want to be on this show if it were me....I see that it could be very damaging to any relationship...I just think maybe the money is what drives the person to tell their deepest secrets....It can break up a marriage and realtionships thats a fact, but somehow i feel that they have been prepaird for this somehow before time....

I haven't watched the show. I saw the commercials for it, and thought the show went too far, so I wouldn't watch it.

I have never watched it and have no intention of doing so. I think that it's legitimizing peeping toms. A friend told me of one he watched where the lady was married. Her husband was in the front row. The tv people had found the ladies old boyfriend. The question they asked the lady was would you go back to your old boyfriend. The lady said yes. The husband put his head down on his hands and started to cry. This show is very cruel and disrespectful to people. It's not the TV viewers that should be allowed into people's private lives. I can't help but wonder about these people who go on these shows. Are they really searching for a way to destroy their lives on public TV
