Pros: A black comedy with great comedy.. drama.. and concludes with you saying: Right On! Cons: We needed more of the terrific Hope Davis who was nice stuff as Greg's Wife. What I thunk: "The Matador" is Written and Directed by: Richard Shepard In a meet and greet, that occurred by coincidence, a traveling salesman makes a profound relationship with a hitman that is living in the slums of despondency. This newly acquired friendship, ends up motivating each one, to act contrary to their usual ways. Serving as a comedy of predestined faith, two souls from antipodal worlds, aid each other in ways that alter each one's lives forever. "The Matador" is a precious and superb black comedy. It makes no apology for the untypical type of funny it releases. That non-conformity, is its greatest quality. It is offbeat and fresh, and pushes the blackness of dark comedy to its best limits. Greg Kinnear portrays the niceguy salesman in a vigorous funny way. Pierce Brosnan is the brilliant portion that carries this film, for he is hilarious at radiating as a scumbag hitman. Its the type of sleaze charm that he produces that makes his character wonderful. The direction's delectably crafty, at displaying a darkstory in brightways. "The Matador" holds solid comedy and firm drama.. that creates a galore of laughter and gives you a great suspenseful conclusion. Had you had the opportunity of watching this great film?
