How many page views?

It's anybody's guess. I just clicked on AC, on my dashboard it said I have 420 page views. Then I sign in to my account and in the same place it says 476. Ok, so then I click on my content and is says 532. Weird. Which is it, I wonder? Yesterday I clicked on my content to see if a new article I submitted has been reviewed yet. It said I had 420 page views, but my clout level was 3. Now it is 2. Plus, the page views per article went down since yesterday.
What is going on? Has this happened to you before? Does this happen frequently? Should I contact AC and ask them what is up, why did the numbers go down? Or should I just wait for the system to play 'catch up?'

I wouldn't contact AC. AC only updates their page views a couple times a week and the # difference might be caused by the system doing the update that very day. Usually the dashboard views are the last total to be corrected.
Yesterday, my totals didn't matchup either, but the estimated payout totals matched the what the individual page views claimed. Wait for the system to play catch-up...it is near the end of the month!

I find that the system updates on AC for my views on Sunday and Tues/Weds, but it often takes an extra day before the dashboard views catch-up.
I see you are zeroing in on your 1st view payout. Good for you!! I've got to get writing there again, I like those monthly payouts, even if they are for $1.50 or $2.00.
Are you using the bookmarking device to pick up more views?

I'm not really sure how that works or if it's helping. I am not really active on any other sites, so putting them in my facebook profile won't do much good. How, exactly, do you bookmark them at sites like stumble upon and delicious?

I hadn't thought of the end of the month thing, maybe the system is just lagging a little. I'll give it some time and see what happens. I'm just getting used to things there.
Thanks

I am pretty sure the page views are only estimated - maybe you are looking at eastimated versus actual...
It is really hard to get a lot of page views on there...I have not submitted too much to them lately...do you have a lot of articles or just one in particular that is getting good traffic?

Actually, I only have 5 articles published right now, and I get about a total of 100 views a week, give or take. I just submitted another one there yesterday, and I plan to do more. I don't have much time, so I'm aiming for one or two a week. I'm hoping to build up a good portfolio that will earn me a small amount each month.
My link is in my profile if you are interested, and if you tell my your pen name over there, I'd be happy to ready yours. Maybe we can help each other out.

I left you a comment on your one pre-school article :) Maybe I should start writing about pre-school, too lol...One I wrote was my first "call for content" - it was holiday & location related, so I don't expect much from that at all! I may try submitting some more I've already written & have on various websites to see if maybe that helps...I'm also going to maybe start "digging" them & some other things to hopefully boost a little traffic...
Anyways, my profile there I think is this:

But there is not too much there i'm proud of...i am getting better traffic on my embarassing prom story/article though :)

Thanks. I added you to my favorites. I like your article about creating a music studio. My husband is in a band and they go to a recording studio- what a pain!

I find that each section of interface keeping track of numerical data on the site, does not update at the same time and therefore what it says in one spot will seem different in another when I look at it sometimes...for example, my cash earnings will go up during the update, yet my page views on my profile still reads the same...it all eventually catches up to each other though in my experience.
