Simon -- cruel, honest, or is it all an act?

Simon is brutally honest -- this is a fact!
Even Simon would not dispute this.
But do you think that he is getting even more outrageous to perpetuate his image, and to make good TV? Everybody is just waiting to see what he says......and he certainly delivers! AND when he likes a contestant, how much do you think that sways the vote? What do you think??

I think Simon is, like you said, brutally honest. I'll admit I don't always agree with him, but most the time I do. I do hate when he makes bad comments about someone's appearance, I think that's crossing the line. But when he is giving feedback on someones vocals, he is stating an opinion, he is being honest.
