Top discussions with less responces

Have you noticed this. there has been a lot of top discussions with only 4 or 5 responces. has it always been this way? If it has i just now noticed it, if not do you think there has been less people on the last couple of days?

Well, I remember that top discussions used to have 30-50 responses. I've always thought that top discussion is the one with the most positive opinions in the form of + given to the starter. To be honest, I heve no idea why it is like that...

i thought it was weird. b/c i had two disscussions show up that only had like 5 responces

I have noticed this before and had actually just read something in another discussion. It was just someone commenting on a response and it may be the answer. Even although a post only has 4 responses there may in fact be many comments on each response which wouldn't show on the details but would mean that it is getting more action. Maybe as well it also looks at how many people have been rating it so if everyone in the discussion is rating everyone elses imput and not just their own then it could make a difference.

That is correct. It is only hot discussions that will have more responses (usually). The top discussions are on the list for a very short time only. Unless there is no other activity, they may disappear from top in mere minutes... I think top discussions just track the active discussions at the time being.
