I don't know about you but I spend money on my hobbies. I fish and prefer to fly fish and I tie my own trout and salmon fishing flies. I could talk about fishing all day and some days I do. :) I have a couple of blogs about fly fishing and I have a site that sells all things fishing on eBay. None of what I sell is my own stuff by the way. I learned to play guitar but I am not up on all things guitar but I have a friend who is and we teamed up just recently to create a blog about all things guitars. I love to eat and my wife and I have a new home and property where this year we will have our first backyard garden. Guess what I have two blogs about backyard gardening. I will also be adding the same software script that makes me money from eBay on my fly fishing site so I will make money on eBay with all things gardening. Here is a good one as well. My wife and I are baby boomers who love to travel and now that our son is grown up and mostly on his own we are planning to do a lot more traveling. I have created a blog about how I see traveling and as we travel we will document and take a lot of photos. Maybe even sell a few travel trips. My hobby blogging doesn't stop there but I am stopping here. You should have the idea I was trying to get across by now. I started my first hobby blog with the money I earned here at MyLot and paid for the first few months of hosting that blog as well. It all started with one hobby blog and MyLot members help.

Good for you! It sounds like you enjoy writing about the activities as much as participating in the activities themselves. I've never quite grasped the concept of blogging, especially for profit. I'm on Yuwie and have blogs there, but its not the same, I'm sure. Where are your blogs?

Yeah I love to talk about what I love to do. I think that is why I enjoyed teaching for the past 20 years or so. I have my blogs hosted on my own hosting account so that I only pay one monthly fee. I also host a bit for others and that covers my hosting cost and then some. I used to have my blogs on blogger.com but I was always half expecting some day to find them gone and I didn't feel like i had control of them. That is when I decided to stop blogging there before it was too late and then I purchased my first hobby domain and started blogging on my domains.

The title of this discussion is 'Make Money Online With Your Hobbies?' Are you making money by blogging about your hobbies, or just the hobbies themselves bringing in a bit of revenue, and you just like blogging about them? (Are you thoroughly confused yet?) :)
