Who is for Obama for president?

United States

I had the t.v. on the other evening and I was only half listening because I was busy doing something else. So will someone tell me if I heard him correctly? I thought I heard Obama say that with him as president we could "save America and save the world." Did he really say that as president of the United States he/we could save the world? Surely not. I mean, I've heard political campaign promises before. But that's just about the topper.

I have to admit that I like McCain. He seems so real. Reminds me of Harry Truman.

Well, first off I don't think it's up to the U.S. to save the world even if we wanted to. For someone to make that promise would make me doubt any campaign promise he makes. I am deeply hoping that he won't get into the White House b/c I really believe we'd have some very serious problems if he did. **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

No matter who is elected, they have a huge challenge facing them. The "legacy" of the Bush administration is enormous debt, depleted resources, and disenchanged people around the world. The U.S. is no longer the shining hero nor the most powerful country. It is hard to believe that eight years could creates o many problems. I always doubt campaign promises!

If he did say that then it is just another grandiose promise. This is perhaps an indication of his soft spot for his African and Muslim heritage as that is probably the part of the world he is thinking of. I am more concerned that whoever is president fixes what is wrong here in the USA. IMO charity begins at home!!

We need to fix ourselves to be able to help fix anyone else. America is in a mess right now. We are weaker than we've been in my lifetime. Time to get it together at home!

I didnt hear him say that but I sure dont put it passed him. this morning i heard a clip of an answer he gave to Ellen DeGeneres to the question: If elected for President, what will you do on the first day? His answer: go into the oval office, sit at the desk and sit back and say "this is pretty cool". wow that is really what I want my new president to do on the first day. I know he was being humorous but today's economy doesnt need humorous. he likes making promises of all sorts.

Politicians with big promises scare me. I prefer a "get it done" approach rather than "Yes we can." That line belongs to Bob the Builder!
