After watching several discussions on it and Saturday Night Live doing a skit on it, I'm starting to wonder. Do you think the press is being overly nice to Obama? If so, do you think it's because he's black?

Yes, I'm somewhat surprised. He's a very inspiring speaker with lots of lofty goals, but he hasn't been challenged all that much on how he's going to accomplish those goals... which I find odd since he's just a first term Senator without a long track record. It may be partly because the press is hesitant to be seen to be attacking or piling on a black candidate, even though the press does that with other candidates. If Obama is the nominee, the Republicans will certainly not hesitate to attack him, and it will be interesting to see how the public responds to that.

Your observations are pretty close to mine. He does preach well but I too would be interested in knowing how he will accomplish his objectives and for that matter, does he have any hidden objectives we should be aware of. I wish they would have press him harder when John Edwards was still running so that the people could have made a more informed decision. I don't think Hillary is the best person for the job, but now we're at the point of picking the lesser of two evils...at least on the democratic side.
