I think you are right. Now that the story has progressed a little more since I first posted this, I have changed my mind and, I think she is just a new character.

Could be! It doesn't have to be someone we all know and love - it could be a new character that comes on the show and either is a problem person or connected to someone there already that is a problem person! And everyone is saying "father" well, what about Grand Father - i.e. Edward! He's had his share of "illigimate" off-spring! Maybe Spenillis father is Edwards son! And then too... for every child there has to be a mother - why is she not mentioned in any spoiler?!?!
