I heard that it would be best if you started having your baby hear classic music while he/she was in your womb :) They said that it helps the baby's brain develop more. I guess it's one of the mysteries of music. I have not ready anything about having 6month old babies though...but I think that it would still make a difference if we follow the logic (since the baby's brain is STILL developing at that time) Thanks for the response on my discussion!

It's definitely a good thing to do - especially Bach and Mozart, the more complex the better for the brain. You can of course, play with toys at the same time: mental agility, motor skills and multi-tasking all in one!

thank you Lucyme, I think you're right. Now my son is 1 years old. He know the song that we had played for him in the past. He can show interesting face when we play the song.

it is good to play classical music to babies because it stimulates their brains. but remember there are many aspects to learning-- language is one of them, mototr skills is another, so it is not which one is right you should try to develop all your babies intelligences. :) good luck!

Classical music is supposed to be good for a baby but I used to play this for mine at night time when they were in bed, as I found it relaxed them and encouraged them to sleep, as a daytime activity I would play with them, with toys and everything else.

gemini_rose, my friend always playing classic music for her baby all the time. The baby will crying if she's not playing a classic music while the bay in the car. Everytime everywhere the baby want to hear classic music if not the baby will crying. I guess the baby already get used to hear the music all the time until feel uncomfortable without that music. Like you said, I realized thath we have to combine the classical music with other activity. Oh, it's not easy for being a good parents. Thank you.

I believe music is good for any age baby. I found that if it is played softly in the background in their room, it's got to stimulate. Reading to your baby is also good. The music doesn't always have to be classical, any calming music is healthy.
