For me I have play the game for nearly 8 years but my handing ball is still so poor because I play it all by myself without any coach or teacher. So basic skill for me is very rough. The most obvious point is the ball handing.I always find myself can't go with well with the ball.In other words,my movement make the apartment of my body and the ball. Then losing the beauty of basketball movement,aha... What's more,I have not lots of time to do the all sided practice and what I wanna get is more or less enhance my skill in this game, especially in the ball handing part.Could you give me some tips??

Since you don't have a coach or personal tutor as you have mentioned, it might be helpful to buy an instructional video or a book as a pattern. You can also watch good players particularly point-guards who handles the ball well. Practice!

Hi Maggiemoon, Ther is no other simple way to increase your ball handling in Basketball. All you have to do is tribble, tribbleand tribble.I'm sure your ball control will definitely increase.A simple tip is here.... "When you tribble,do it with your fingers.Don't touch your inner palm to the ball surface.Use it only when you have to hold the ball.See your hands after tribbling.I f your entire hand get dirty ,you are on the wrong way.Only your fingers must be dirty,Rest all part should be clean...."

I used to practice by myself too! It is not so bad to do this, and you will get more practice shots than when you get to practice with a team. Dribbling the ball takes practice, keep the ball bouncing while you are running, and you can run a practice mile around the gym!

One best exercise is to dribble the ball in between the legs to and fro while jumping. Do this as long as you can and pros do this. Use the finger tips in dribbling the ball make sure the ball does not touch your palm for better handling.
