Oh that would certainly be interesting right now (we just started this past summer) all of our 'products' are made by me, myself, and I :) My ex-husband, father of my daughter, is my business partner - he's putting up the money and I'm doing the work. We came up with the idea because our daughter and her now husband can't seem to find jobs so thought this could be a 'family business' but the 'kids' just didn't want to work. He'd already put out money for a lot of equipment and supplies and although working full-time now would like to retire but have something to do on the side so we've kept going on it.

I own a landscaping company. I decided to do what I wanted and not work to make someone else rich. So far it has been great. I think this is my 5 year in business. I was able to turn down a lot of business last year. I can't find people who want to work hard so I don't take jobs. Finding worthwhile employees seems to be the hardest part. If an 80 year old woman could work on her knees and bend over and pick up stuff she would be just as good as a 20 year old. I don't think that the kids realize that they can't make money playing TV games. LOL I get a nice 3 month vacation every year too. This allows me to work on my other job which consists of selling on varies websites including my own as well as operating a few others. I am coming to the crossroads too. My online business can make a substantial income and I don't have to do the heavy physical stuff. So I've been looking for a supervisor or manager without much luck. They don't want to go 3 months without working. But they don't realize that 9 months at $20 an hour is more than 12 months at $10 an hour. Plus at least 2 hours a day is riding to the job sites. I don't understand people. LOL

uhm, im still a student so i go to school everday, but after school I have 2 jobs in retail. I work in northern reflections (a clothing store targetted at middle aged women) and ardenes, which is a clothing/accesory store for teens. I dont get paid that much, and i still have to save up alot for school. But i worked in fast food before, and moving from fast food to clothing is heaven, alot easier. I work enough though, this week i only have one day off.

that is good practice but you always have to remind yourself that you have to finish school what ever it takes. your priority should be school and not your extra curricular activities of making money.

I am a government employee since then. I tried to work in some private entities but I love to work here. The pay is not that much but I can learn more and happy with my work. I have been assigned to different offices and learned the roofs so they say. I dont have no business at all but maybe in due time will enter in a small venture. I also will probably go on teaching on the side. I am just taking my time.

thanks for your response and i am very proud of what you said about you asking for help because most of the disabled people i have encountered are too proud to ask for help and i see that you are making use of what you have, you are a very resourceful person and you will be blessed and you are already , you are even better than most of us who are not physically disabled. you inspire me, jason. may God keep your spirits stronger!

I'm working as a HR & Office Manager for a software development company. My role mainly involves recruiting new staff and doing their induction, keeping all records of holidays and sickness and other absences, managing the office which includes maintaining office stationery and computer hardware, health & safety, fire officer, ensuring staff employment records are kept up to date, payrises, bonuses, etc. I am the only one (apart from my director) who knows everyone's salaries. I am the one my boss talks to when discussing disciplinary issues or about the pros and cons of potential hires, etc. I also look after our database of bugs and new features for our software ensuring that people only log items at the correct priority level for our developers.

I am a RN and a registered sleep technician. I use to work in a busy hospital as a floor nurse in a cardiac/kindey ward in 1997 I transfered to the sleep lab at the hospital. I then worked myself from the bottom to become the supervisor of the sleep lab. I now am disabled and work partime for a local doctor's sleep lab. I do most of my work from home. I am writing his policy and procedure manual and getting his lab ready to become accredited by the American Accidamy of Sleep Medicine.
