Pitbulls

There has been a debate for years about the American Pitbull terrier. I personally believe that it is the owners fault when a pitbull is vicious and attacks. I have read tons of post about people thinking its just the breed. I would like to know your opinion on this debate. Do you think it is the breed or the owners? Do you think it was right for pitbulls to be banned from certain states and torn out of their happy homes? Don't get me wrong, any dog that is dangerous shouldn't be allowed to continue being a threat but what about the innocent ones who never had a chance to prove themselves! What is your opinion?

I personally don't care for pits. They just don't appeal to me. As someone who raises what many people would consider an even more dangerous breed ( wolfdogs, pics on my profile ) & my sister raises pits I'll step up to defend them. It's the owners that makes the dogs mean. All dogs have the same instincts, it's how their treated that determines how they'll act. People pay attention when the big feroscious dogs act up but it's just as common in smaller dogs. They just ignore it because their "cute". When a dog causes a problem they should look at it's owner FIRST THING. What did they do/not do that caused this to happen? Don't blame the breed, blame the owner. We're the dangerous breed!
