What were you like as a child? Me... I was a "little mommy". Every family function or get together I would surround myself with kids. I was not one to go outside (though I love the outdoors now as an adult) but would rather stay in and curl up with a good book. I can honestly say that I was a good kid. I never really got into trouble. Never got into drugs. Never drank until I was in college. Never ran away or got into trouble with the law. Made straight A's all through school. But I was in such a hurry to grow up!I thought I was so mature for my age, which I was, but not as much as I thought. I hated being referred to as a "kid". I thought that term was for 10 year olds. They were kids but I was 14. I was NOT a kid. lol. Now I am 24 and a married mother of 2 plus a step mother to two kids. I have learned in my short life that yes, NOW I am an adult (barely) but there is so much I don't know! Man, I sure did get dumber the older I got. lol. What were you like as a child? Were you a trouble maker/ blacksheep...or were you a goddy twoshoes/teacher's pet? Were you in a hurry to grow up or were more worried aboutplaying with your barbies or GI Joes?

Had no choice about growing up. I wasn't really a trouble maker, but got the title during my teen years and became the black sheep of the family. I was raped at the age of 12 by my best friend's sister's boyfriend. Who was also a friend of our family. When I told my mother, she did not believe me, and I was being threaten by him, so I ran away from home. I was a good student, and was supporting myself for the first time at the age of 14. Had two babysitting jobs. One paid me by giving me free rent in a small two room apartment.I was a runaway when I did this, and was able to stay hidden in plain sight for 6 months before, my mother put posters up for me and some turned me in. I went to Indiana Girls School shortly after that, and spent some time there, then a half way house, before I decided, I couldn't live that way and took off again. I was returned to Indiana Girls School. I petitioned the court for my own custody and got it, because my file stated when they found me, I had rented my own apartment and had a job. The state said by me doing this I proved I could take care of myself and at the age of 16 I was declared an adult. I pretty much have been on my own since. Though I did move back in with my parents shortly when my oldest was a baby. Didn't stay too long. Don't get along well with my parents when I live with them. So I don't live with them very long, and never really did. Even when I was a small child, I was always someplace other than home.

I am SO SOrry you had to go through that as a child!! That is absolutely awful! I lived a pretty sheltered life and i have no idea what it would have been like to expereince anything even close to that. It sounds like you recovered from it pretty well though. Ya know, it's amazing that you didn't get into really big trouble with not havingthe structure that all children need, and believe it or not, want. I'm glad after all of this that you seem to have high morals and a good life. I wish the best for you and your family!
