I do a mix of name brand and cheaper brands. I prefer Perdue chicken but will buy the store brand beef. The same with canned goods. I prefer name brands in some but will also buy the store brand in others.

Yes it depends on what I am buying but i do buy a lot of no name brands, I have never been one to think because something is more expensive it is naturally better, as some manufacturers make both anyway...

We get both but I would say that it is mostly store brand. I find that a lot of the store brand has a much better taste than name brand.

My husband likes to go for the name brands, if it's worth going for them. For instance, if we see a name brand item and then the wee see that the no name brand is just a few cents less, well then he tends to want to get the name brand one. However, if the no name brand has a great sale price attached to it or just a great price in general, well then, we will buy the no name brand. Things are so expensive these days that if you are not rich or living comfortably at least, you have no choice but to go with the no named brands and honestly, I think for the most part, the only diffrence in the two, are the names....

I usually buy the generic/store brand if possible. On a fixed income you aren't given much choice. We have an Aldi's now and a lot of their products are really the name brand with just a different label. I've found frozen lasagna, garlic Texas Toast, chex mix, corn chips and I don't remember what all else to be name brands with different packaging. I pay less for canned cat food there than the WalMart brand too, and the cats like it much better. I think its Fancy Feast or something.

What I can actually get in the store brand, I will buy. I find a lot of store names use too many artificial flavors & colors and other things that we do not keep in our diet. I will buy basic items - lie brown rice - in the store brand.

I buy certain things that are brand name and then rest store brand. When it comes to mayo, I'm sorry I grew up with the cheap stuff and once I had the good stuff there was no turning back. When it comes to milk, eggs, frozen or canned veggies, I get them at store brand because for one it's cheaper. With bread, I get the cheapest when I'm short on cash, but normally I like Sara Lee's soft white bread better. I could go on and on how certain brand names are better than store brand and vice versa.

I buy name bands for things like laundry detergent, pasta sauce; where store brands, I've found, don't work as while or taste as nice. I buy most other things bargin brand. I helps the budget.

It depends on the brand. Store brands are usually cheaper from name brands, but sometimes it is just not worth the money saved to buy store brands. Some store brand products are actually horrible. For instance, spaghetti sauce. I usually find myself preferring Ragu to any other store brand no matter what because mine experience with store brands spaghetti sauces have been horrible. Another thing that I do not try to buy cheaper on are electronics. For instance, I would buy a name brand electronic any day compared to a store brand one, because my experiences with store brands electronics have been bad. They do not last long! -Feel Free to Disagree!

I sometimes go for the name brands. It depends what it is. Like bread is bread to me it doesnt matter what kind it is or Milk even its all the same. But things like mac and cheese that I have to have name brand. I cant stand the cheap stuff it just has such a nasty taste to it. And the list could go on forever about what I think is good for name brand and what isnt.

It is a mixed for me, I have a certain brands that I would go for in certain products and I rarely change brands as I like what I usually get. Say for example, for bread I will always buy the UP! brand, for eggs I will purchase the coles ones (generic), for milk it is always dairy farmer... and things like that.

I usually stick with the store brands because they are a lot cheaper. But sometimes there are some products that just don't taste as good as the name brands. Like mayonaise. The off brands are just not the same. Also canned soups. Some things are just better when they are the same brands. But I prefer the cheaper products these days.

I usualy do, I prefer brands I'm familiar with that way I know i'll like what i'm geting. I will sometimes go for a lesser known brand if there is an irresistable sale going on or something.

My parents definitely agree with you about the bread! They always have the softest and yummiest bread! They said that it is more expensive but it stays fresh longer. Bread doesn't last long in our house so I don't spend the extra money on it. There are some cereals that I like a lot better in the store brand rather than the name brand as well. Lucky Charms is one of them. I really don't like the real ones, but I like the store brand kind! :)

No, I don't shop by brands. I just get what ever I want and try to find the good one but of course still calculate the price. I will try also to look for the cheap price not too expensive.

I kind of mix and match. Some things I will buy the no name and some things I have to have the name brands. On bread I just buy what ever is cheapest and softest. Some of the can foods I will buy the more expensive ones because the cheap cans always seem to have stems and other stuff in them. With the prices of everything these days I try to buy the cheapest but best products for my money. Do you buy any no name or store brand names? Have a great day.

Cheapest is always best! lol, i think that is my mums motto when she goes to the shops! i think that nearly everything tastes the same, whether it is from a good shop and a good name, or a cheaper one! Chris

When shopping for food I usually go to Asda (wal-mart) as it is cheaper than Tesco.I buy a mix of smart price( the cheap one) or Asda own brand. The brand of milk or bread does not bother me but, I admit cereal has to be Kelloggs and spaghetti, beans and soup is generally Heinz. As for cleaning stuff and washing powder I try anything and if it works I will use it again. For clothes and shoes I dont buy designer, Asda or Peacocks is fine for me, although I buy named trainers they do last better.
