I believe that each of us have traveled to sum places one way or the other. There is one thing that I have notice in my country and I would like to ask fellow myLot people if its the same from their end all around the world. When I go to the provinces away from the city, I find the people more accommodating and more open to help you as compared to the city folks. I am not saying that city people are bad. I think its probably most of the people living in the city are quite busy with work and their life. What about you, have you seen the difference?

Yes there is a huge difference between people who live in rural areas appose to people who live in the cities. The people in the cities have such a fast paced lifestyle that they don't have time for themselves, not alone someone else. People in rural areas live a slower paced lifestyle seem to have a lot of time to help the fellow man and they don't have the fear of crime like the city folks do. I, myself, would much rather live in a rural area than in the city anytime any day. It's much more friendlier and the air is much cleaner and gosh it's so peaceful without the noise.

I think we have the same stand. The only thing is my job entails that I should live in the city. Maybe perhaps when I am old and want to enjoy life and nature I would find a good place, a rural area to settle down away from the noise and traffic as well as the pollution and most of all enjoy the company of people whom you can mingle from time to time since they are not that busy.

i think there are many things to consider when deciding whether they are accomodating or not. one factor that i could see, is the population aspect around a certain area. often times, urban areas had higher population so it would be hard for eveyrone to know each other and have close contacts with them. whereas in the county where population is not sprouting and the life style is not busy and hectic comparing to the metropolis, they usually have time to socialize and know each other more. another factor that i am seeing is, the availability of higher crime rate in a city or in urban areas comparing to those in the suburbs or in a smaller community. wherever there is a big developments there's also the tendency to have higher criminalities and that is making people adamnt to socialize or perhaps would help cauze at the back of their mind they are also considering it as a plot or decoy for any untoward situations that these people are planning. who knows, right? but that doesn't mean they aren't accomodating, it's just they are hesitant.

Well, from the looks of it you have made a perfect analysis of the situation.

I also do believe that people from the provinces are more hospitable compared to people from the cities. I believe it's because the people from the provinces have a relaxed environment and they don't really fear that you're a fraud or anything - they're more trusting because they're exposed to less crime whereas city people are more careful with who they speak with and who they entertain :)
Thanks for the response on my discussion!

Well, I guess there are values and cultures that are still practiced in the provinces that are not usually seen in the city area. I am not saying that in the city area these things do not exist. They still do, but the point is there are a lot of things going on in the city and people from all walks of life are in the city.. We can never tell if such a person is a good person or not. Definitely people in the city area are just careful. You can never tell if the person you are entertaining may be after for something or worst may rob you or do something bad.
