I want to be a wahm!

I am sure a lot of you know how much I want to be able to stay at home. I would love to take a leave from work til the end of the semester, but there are so many things stopping me. Like the fact that I won't have my paycheck coming twice a month like it comes now. It would only be 2 months now. I graduate in May. Let me tell you what is going on now. I have my vacation business going. I have so many ideas in my head that it is keeping me up at night. It's like my brain won't shut down. I want to fundraise for every cause I support. And I can. I have the means to but not the time really since I work full time. I really want to fundraise for abused children. Well, and for all the childhood disorders that need more research. My fundraising program would be a hit. I just know it. Then last night I was browsing through my dropship account and looking at the Nike shoes I sell. There are so many new pairs. New UGG boots too. Right now is the time of year I usually sell prom dresses too. I looked at them as well. I long to stay at home. I feel that right now my situation is not ideal. I work all day and come home at 3pm. Then I get on the computer and market my business. I'm also going to be promoting my store. I feel that I am spending too much time online in the evening and not enough time with my daughter. If I was a wahm, I could do the majority of the work stuff during the day and play with her more in the evening. It would be wonderful. What do you think? Are you a wahm or sahm? Am I glamorizing it? Would you take the leave for the next 2 months? Btw, I will have money. I am getting a settlement on March 15th of $5000. That would be more than enough to last the 2 months until I graduate.

well i will ask you to amke up your mind first, starting a business sometimes is not as easy as it seems ,you need to count the cost and what you will miss in terms of visiting your friends and family,in fact you will find yourself suddenly out of circulation because until your business is off the ground there is pain but if you are ready to face this pain and endure it then i guess you are ready but i must tell you that getting some amount is a good idea but two months is too short you should try and get ready for t least 6 months in advance this will haelp you to keep a cool head until the patronage starts rolling in.you dont want to hurt your child by saying you are broke all the time would you?

I will only take a leave until I graduate which is in 2 months. May. I have already started the business. I am constantly online right now it seems. I am promoting, promoting, promoting. I am using myspace mostly. I have a boutique myspace pg where I display my tutus. I am using this page to promote my vacation business. Maybe I should seperate it, but I don't think I am gonna. I like all of my friends on there.

Make sure you have enough money and yes do it. I started my cheesecake business in Maine and that was on a wing and a prayer. My first year I was in the hole however by year 5 I was making 50,000 a year profit. Not bad for a pipe dream. I no longer have the business however I will tell you I learned a great deal from it. You also do enough that you will be able to support it, if you can concentrate on one thing and not wear yourself out. I will get you that stuff very soon, please just remember I am working on my GitMo case however I do have some info to send you for your parents on the new Humara allowance by the FDA for children. Vaccines are my baby that I educate people on besides the Government. Ainge

Why did you give that biz up? And what exactly do you do now? What is GitMo?

Family issues is why I gave it up. Guantanamo Bay. What do I know, a lot. You have always called out to me here on MyLot, not in the way you think, your spirit, your drive, and your heart. I will share with you don't worry. Just let me take care of some issues on my end. Ainge

I am a work at home mom and it's fun. I mean there are a lot of things that you can do without your boss looking over your shoulders and yes, it is nice to spend more time with your kids! :)

Yes, that is very true. I think I am going to do it. At least for the 2 months. I know I can make money. It's just taking the last step to take the leave.

Could you not take holidays and sick days and use those up.Try it on a trial basis and see how it fairs out. If it works for you, then go for it. If it doesnt work out financially than you still have your job to go back to.. :-)

I work holidays. Not enough sick time. And have to schedule vacation in advance. If I took a leave, I can go back anytime I want.

I'm a WAHM and a student much like yourself and if you can be a WAHM until you graduate I say go for it. Either way you will still be at home with your daughter and she will be happier for it and like you said you may have more time to be with her at night..sounds awesome! Good luck!

Yes, I'm just afraid that if I take a 2 month leave I won't want to go back even then. I will have to pay my insurance myself. I want to take it right now. There are 2 expos this weekend that I want to attend but I have to work. They would be great ways to expand my biz.

I am a SAHM and the only work I do is mylot besides house cleaning that is. It really is not as glamourous as some think it is. Yeah you are available for your child/dren when they need you buy you also have to consider the house hold chores and the distractions your daughter can come up with just to be able to spend time with you because you are home.

I have been a work at home mother for a long time. I enjoy the work and the pay is extremely good. I started out doing a few work at home sites but I was only making 10 or 15 dollars a month from each, Now I work at GetAFreelancer and I make almost as much as my husband who works every day.
