Sit in silence and see how much there is to hear. Listen to People. Listen to your own inner voice. Listen with your heart and always listen to that which is never spoken. These are not my words. It is a topic given to IV grade students (9-10 year olds) at a school in Bangalore. For adults, it is so difficult to put this into practice, and I feel because of not following what is said above, most people are in some problem or the other. Your gracious comments please.

Hello ssh123, The topic in itself is so pleasing to ears.......I remember when I was a child, I use to sit silently in a garden and then I could really hear the sweet sounds of different kinds of birds.,it had sweet chirping of sparrows as well as sharp sound of crows........the moving of leaves as the soft wind blew, or the sound of whole tree swinging here and there as the wind became more and more stronger.....the falling of water from waterfalls or even from the fountains. sounds of bells ringing in the temples and churches...or sound from mosque that alerted the Muslims to get ready for prayers or the school bell nearyby and the sounds of noisy children.......wow.......I think I can go on writing on this wonderful topic....I agree with you , silence has its own music and sweetness...... but everything depends on the fact that are we ready to shut our mouths and listen to the silence....lol Thanks for sharing

Oh! That was what it was in Bangalore city way back in 1960. Today it is most densely populated city in the world. We have put a mesh with bigger brackets so that sparrows and squirrels can come inside our house. My wife is to feed these with rice, cereals, corn etc. Some of them were very regular and punctual. No, our area which was once outskirts is heart of the city, bustling with heavy traffic from 7 a.m. to 12 midnight. The wordings really drew my attention and I wish I could get out of the place and go to a place where I can have all that you said. That is the life. At least children who live in cities should get opportunity once a while for a fortnight or so. IT is really freshing and one can find the meaning of life from the business of life. Thanks for interesting response.

I just do not unduly worry about the responses or no responses. I keep posting what I get to mind which I feel needs elaboration and which needs everyone's opinion. Thank you very much for your active participation and meaningful statements. Your response has been given BR.

It is in silence that our conscience works and we can recoup the lost energy, not necessarily by meditation, but by reflecting on the things that have occured during the day,or in the past. But when human being is alone, his/her mind always tends to think about a situation where he/she is in a midst of a company, but vice versa, when he/she is in a group of people. A really good topic.. friend. Have a good day:=D

Funy you say that, because I love to do it :) I love to sit down, my eyes closed an d just listen to the sounds around me. SOmetimes I can concentrate only on certain noises sometimes it's just a mix of many things. I prefer to hear at night there are so many noises that one never notices during the day. And I prefer even more to listen to sounds of nature rather than other noises, that's why I enjoy camping so much. Sitting by the fire and hearing all the soothing sounds.

Caping that is really wonderful. But it is only momentary. There are some gifted people who have made house in the amidst of small forests and they enjoy all things that nature bestowed on humans. I envy them. Thanks for your active and meaningful participation.
