Superstition

I am very curious to know what people think about the superstition about not splitting the pole. Its one I have always known since being a teenager. The superstition is that it's bad luck for 2 people to walk passed a pole on opposite sides of the pole or anything taller than you. They say if you do "split" the pole you have to go back and walk around it on the opposite side to make it even. I know this sounds ridiculous but I believe in this one and I would never split a pole. Any one else believe in this superstition? If so, what were you told about it?

I've heard of this one but I'm not actually superstitious. It's only bad luck if your holding hands & forget to let go.

thats obviously bad luck to run into a pole while holding hands.. i wouldn't call that a superstition. It's completely different than that.

Yea, more like cruel & unusual punishment, especially when my wife tries to distract me just before we get to it.

Wow! I thought everyone knew about that. It will still make you wonder though, when you and someone else are crossing past a pole on different sides.. who's luck is going to turn bad.

Did you know superstion is a sin,and do you honestly belive that theres something out there thats able to keep track of things like broken mirrors, spliting polls,,how many times someone combs there hair,if superstion is real no wonder the world is such a mess ,no one is throwing enough salt over there shoulder , someone call the world leaders maybe a little salt throwing is the answer to world peace

theres not something out there keeping track of those things, thats not the point of superstitions. The point is less complex than thinking some one is keeping track. I look at it like a conspiracy. If u break the superstitions then its a conspiracy causing bad luck its like something bigger than we know, like God who is against superstitions but if we can believe in God then why cant people be superstitious?
