I was wondering if you can hook the computer/laptop to a normal TV, if you can, then how? It could be nice to try.

It depends on your computer and your TV. If you have an HDTV or LCD TV they often have a VGA connection where you can plug your monitor in. If you are using an old CRT TV (the big heavy ones) then it gets more complicated. you will need to check if your computer has an S-Video or Composite connection. You will then need to see if your TV has a matching connection. If your computer has an S-Video connection (most laptops do), and your TV only has composite, you might be able to get an adapter. That's not a sure thing since sometimes when using an adapter you will only get black and white on your TV.

Also, CRT TVs make poor monitors. Things will be blurry and most text will be difficult to read. Still, it works well if you are only using it for watching videos or pictures on your computer. HDTVs are great though. I have a computer hooked up to one right now that I use to record and watch TV. It's awesome.

I have tryed everything resolution possible and none help. I have an hp laptop windows vista ultimate. with an nvidia card with hdmi hookup(which I am using to hook up the tv and computer to.) and I also have an svideo card plug in I have more but those seem most relevent to what I need help on. all help is greatly appreciated thanks.

This depends on the hardware configuration of your computer. I connect my laptop to the television, but it has a S Video port to output the video in conjunction with the audio out.

You can simple do that. First you need Graphic card with TV-out. Then with that package comes a cable. With that cable you will connect your TV and your Graphic card. Doing that you have already connected your TV with your computer. There are few adjustments, but thats is piece of cake.
