Its snowing here in Texas!!! This is the first time its snowed this year for us. I am pretty excited, although they say its going to be sunny with a high of 59 tomorrow, so I guess that means we will have school tomorrow :( Anyways just thought I would share the exciting news. I know for some of you this is no big deal, but here in Texas I am lucky if I get to see half an inch a year.

We only had rain today, but it has gotten down below freezing here tonight. Other parts of our state are supposed to get up to 10 inches of snow. We will just end up with a lot of ice if the temp does not go back up.

I live in Missouri. We got some sleet, but not too much. My family a few hours north have gotten about 4 inches of snow since this morning.

Texas Snow in March of 2008 - Here's a quick pic of part of our backyard where the snow was!!
Crazy weather here and so funny too that we got 4 inches - no ice and yet school is delayed for 2 hours!!! No surprise regarding that since this is TX and we usually get the ice and no pretty white snow!!!I am originally from the Northeast so I totally miss the snow times and it's so nice when it finally happens here in TX!!!

Back yard - Here is one of my backyard full of snow!
I took lots of pictures of the snow, especially because it happens only once a year or so!

Lol...I hate the snow. I live in NY/PA and I see a lot of snow every year. This year id say we got at least a foot total or more. Last night it snowed another 6 inches. The sucky part about snow days here is you have to make them up on our scheduled days off.

In college, they dont make you make up the days. Just have to work harder to make up the work we miss. I think many people think snow is just a normal thing, but here in texas its rare, and appreciated. At least by me

i am from PA so snow really isn't a big deal here but we lived in Olahoma for 3 years and it was a big deal there. it was so funny cuz we had not even an inch and everything closed down. here in PA an inch of snow is nothing. it was great though we took the kids outside and played and it was the first time my middle son had ever been able to go out and play in it. it was so funny at first he didn't even want to step in it. my oldest was thrilled but was upset because there was no hills to slide down. now that we are here in PA and all it does is snow we can't wait till it stops and gets warm.

I never saw a real snow. I have wanted to see snow for years now. Someday, I will see snow and sunrises from other lands. You are indeed lucky that you get to have snow for half an inch. At least you got to feel it, smell it and play in it.

That is great to know. Well, here in our country it doesn't snow at all. It would be nice to feel the snow on the skin falling and feel the coldness. Although many people may not like it here since we are not used to cold temperatures. Anyway, enjoy the snow and best regards.

I have not had any snow here in the part of england that I live, thank goodness I dont really like it at all. I wouldnt mind if it perhaps snowed on a day where I didnt have to walk about and go shopping in it and I know my kids would love to see some snow so they can make some snowmen.

Thanks to global warming, what is not supposed to happen heappens. What is happening will happen in bountiful, even excess to the extent of destrying the fabric of society. Anyhow you seem to be loving the snow and its appearance and we too lvoe snow but unfortunatley only in northernmost part of India, it snows during Jan-March. I am in southern part of India it is only blow hot and blow cold of weather.

My son is at Sheppard AFB in TX. I was talking to him on Sunday and he had me look up weather info for him...they were under a tornado watch. Then looking ahead to the very next day (Monday) he was under a snow/blowing snow advisory. Seems like the northern part of TX especially butting up to OK gets really weird weather LOL. I am happy that you are excited about getting snow....I am in PA and we gets lots of it so I would rather send it all to you instead of dealing with it here LOL.

That is unusual for Sheppard to get snow - I lived for several years in SW oklahoma and we would get a little bit of snow each year - it would last 2 days tops... but we sure got a lot of hail balls (size of grapefruit to baseballs)

Wow it snowed in Texas. Thats strange, you guys really do not get a chance to see snow. The reason is because it is so hot and humid in texas. I was in texas last year like in august the weather was nice and pretty but it was really hot.

Well I hope you enjoy it. Its snowing here right now too. Its the 5th time for us. I am in Missouri. Getting 6-9 inches. People are parked on the hiways. Not fun. Everything is shut down.

I'm happy for you. I know how exciting it can be, especially when it is such a rare occasion. As for me, I've had enough for one year. If you like, I will give you some of my snow. I have more than I need. There is about 5 feet on the ground and the snowbanks are at least twice that. I have enough to spare, and I give it willingly- My parents taught me how to share. *smile*

Come on over to Ohio - I've had enough snow to last me the rest of my life !! It was 61 yesterday and most of the snow melted, then last night it started POURING and as the day is going on it has started to freeze. I was in San Antonio quite a few years ago - I LOVED it - great state you have there!
