Don't you feel guilty trying to refer people?

Don't you feel guilty trying to refer people? I have tried those free online click/survey things, and I have never referred anybody (though that is supposed to be how you make the most). And same with MyLot. I would feel too guilty trying to get my friends and family or others to join, as it can seem like, I just want to get them to get me money! Seems greedy. But I know many of you have successfully, and happily on both sides, I'm sure.

I have referrals it states 18 lol and only 3 are active but I am not bothered at all
I earn my money by working on places myself
And most of the time when People join under you they know that you are earning when they are active so it is up to them really if they want to do that and if not then they just join on their own

I make a golden rule that I don't bug or spam my friends or pester them to join my sites, I can't even bring myself to pm my closest friends on Mylot to tell them about other sites. Basically I don't like spam so I practice what I preach, if I don't like it, why should I inflict it on others? What's good enough for the goose as it were. When friends ask me I do feel obliged too but I feel guilty if the site they have promoted to me isn't to my liking and I feel obligated to earn them something. And if you do refer them and they don't do anything about it, it could cause embarrassment or bad feeling, so I don't do it.

Hey hun,
I wish MyLot told me when you posted back. They only tell me when you first reply. I would have responded more quickly. But anywa...
What a dork. Young little brat. ;o) I think that's so stupid if you are interested and attracted so much that you kiss, and then ignore. I'd hate to know what he's been doing with other guys.
Anyway, you deserve a great one. :o) Hugs

Wolfie babe!
I hadn't heard from you in some time. Thanks for the honest and detailed response. I agree with you. Glad we relate with that. Hope you're doing really well. Did you get in contact again with that young man you had a friendly smooch with? :o)

Yes I do feel guilty when trying to recruit friends or relatives to any site. I send them my myLot link but nobody has an interest in joining. I try explaining it's a fun place to be, learn and people from all over the world are here. I also mention there are earnings involved with the site. Can't believe there is nobody I know that wouldn't have any interest in learning or earning. I am disappointed to say the least.

Thanks, Carol for responding. I did mention it to a family member when I was new, and said how it was a really helpful site. She couldn't imagine joining it, but was glad it helped (implying to when I asked if I could be contagious still, 2 weeks after the flu started, as I had an event to attend with a dear 97 year old friend).
:o)

When I try and get referals its not to be greedy. But most people wouldnt understand that. Its a good way to get help that you normally couldnt get. Is needing help greedy?

What if I tell you a long sob story? You probably wouldnt believe it.
What is so bad about signing up for something free? How does it hurt you? You might be helping someone fix their car, or pay for a baby sitter.
It is easier than begging-and people have pride. Isnt it enough the ask for you help just to sign up?
