What are the words/phrases that you frequently used? These maybe words/phrases that you are using daily on your job or words/phrases that became your expression? For me it is Thank you and okay that I commonly used because of my job and my expression is Oh My Gosh. I have a friend who always say Wow even if he is not impressed, sometimes it even sound sarcastic but he got used to it =) How about you?

I agree with you that when we often say them at situations that we often get into, they become expressions. Where I work, I really want to say, 'Very good!' to those that I talk to but, not all of them are.. Some really needs a lot of patience before you can finally get to tell them that they indeed made a good effort on trying. Most common expressions I would say would be 'Yeah' instead of 'yes,' 'How are you?' 'really?' and so on.. typical phrases you can hear in a class session.

Hi ratyz5! I will also admit that my overused words are usually words that I use in agreement or just something to say so that whoever I'm talking to will believe I understand. I just lost in words sometimes and my mind is off my head at times as well especially if I'm worried but I don't want to be rude with the one I'm speaking with. "Uh-uh" I think is my number one overused expression.

Hahaha~! Whenever I hear my student's over used expressions like, 'yes' after asking them if they understood, I would always follow it up with an instruction to give me an example regarding what we have just talked about and see if they indeed listening to whatever it was that we talked about.. (^_^")

I think I use "really?" and "like" more often that I would like to hear myself :D They just make the conversation smoother. But on the other hand, it's a terrible thing to be so used to them when I'm writing - I always have to edit it out because I blurt it as I type :D Thanks for the response on my discussion!

I have to agree that the word "really" makes the conversation sounds smoother. Actually you can say it whenever someone is telling a story and it will sound like you are really listening (even if you're not but I think you are the type of person who truly listens =D) Thank you also for responding =) Happy MyLotting to you!

I always use "thank you" everyday and anywhere but I don't think it will ever be considered overused as it is really meant to be used frequently. Here in myLot, I guess I'm using usually, frequently, most of the times, I think/I don't think and other usual expressions to make my post longer and more understandable.

"Thank you" is a nice word and I don't think anyone will mind if you say it all the time. I actually wish that you will keep on using it =) Thank you for your response!

hi brew! ^__^ most of my expressions or most used words are in our language and in another dialect (hiligaynon). some of them would be "ambot" or "ambot ah" which means i don't know or just an expression when exasperated, and "huo eh" which means of course. some would be made up words like "kamones" which is my slang for come on, ^__^;; and "in fairview" which is an alteration of in fairness. LOL some would be "cool sounding" expressions like "darn it", goodness, dammit, as in. and most of them are cursing words which have been changed a bit so as not to sound so offending like "putik", "punyemas", "galgal", "siete", "anak ng...". ^__^;;
