I don't look at the keyboard when I am typing I look at the computer screen at what I am typing if I make a mistake I see it that way and I can correct it right away. I have been typing without looking at the keyboard since about the 8th grade.

yes i do find it easier to look at my keyboard all the time while typing as compared to looking at the screen coz this is what im used to. we didnt take up typing lessons in high school. maybe if we did, i would be able to type just as fast without looking at the keyboard.

I rarely look at my keyboard when typing. My eyes are usually focused on the sheet of paper that I am copying from or in my monitor to monitor my grammar and spelling. I don't really time my words per minute but I type pretty fast enough to keep my brain thinking and at the same time my fingers typing.

I rarely look at the keyboard...only when I'm typing some symbols like: # : { } I think the last time I timed myself I typed about 63 words per minute with no mistakes.

not really not anymore.. I used to look at it when I was younger.. I know where all the keys are at now.. So I can type a lot faster.

Hi yashaggr, doing daily posting at mylot could really help me a lot in the improvement of typing. Now I could type by just looking at the screen of the pc instead of the keyboard. But I still have to look at the keyboard when typing the upper case of the top row, as I rarely use those symbols.

I am not that a good typer, but there are times that I could type complete words without even looking on the keyboard. I think I have somehow developed my typing skills here, while on mylot. I am not that fast yet, but it is improving and that's a good sign for me..

They made all of us learn how to type in fourth or fifth grade, so no I don't look at the keyboard when I type. Except when I use a computer that has the keys spaced out further than I'm used to... then I just get confused. I just took a wpm test that said I was at 90.... O.o;;

I trained as a typist when I was at school. First I used a manual typewriter and when I went to work I used electric typewriters. Later I bought a word processor and then a computer. Now I can think and type at the same time, without looking at the keyboard at all. It is something you have to be trained in as you use all your fingers when you type fast and most untrained people use only 2 fingers.

The only time I struggle to type without looking at a keyboard is when I use a desktop keyboard. My fingers and muscle memory has gotten so used to the reduced size of laptop keyboards that it takes me a few days to readjust to the regular sized version.

No I don't. Not often. I think it comes with practice. Go on, you need some more time and effort.:)
