In fact gold fish are easy to raised at home. There are many reasons for fish to die. I wonder whether you feed them too much. Fish will never know when they will get full and they can eat it all the time. Or do you change all your water? Sometimes too clean water isn't good for fish.

I've never had much luck with goldfish. I was told that they release a lot of amonia and if your water isn't filtered enough they die really fast. There are also drops you can add to the water to keep it safer if the filter doesn't work well enough but it's still no guarantee. If you want to give it another try look for filters specifically for them, add the purifying drops, use bottled water rather than tap and consider fewer fish depending on the size of your tank.

Foxy, guess that makes two of us with not having luck with goldfish. I do seem to have a green thumb for plants. Thanks for the tips and advice. If she gets more gold fish I think this time I will do some research on how to keep them alive and what they need.

it would be helpfull to explain the tank in which the fish were kept or did they compete for food. what were the sexes of the fish and also where was the tank kept. these would give us a clearer image as onto what caused the fishes to die.
