I got this faux fur coat from the Goodwill store and it says to clean by fur coat method. Does anyone know what this is?

If it is a faux fur, you should be able to take it to a dry cleaner (unless the "fur" is on real leather.) But if it is real fur, then it must go to a furier for special cleaning process.

thank you. the fur is fake but I think it might be on real leather. I will just take it to a dry cleaner and see what they say about it.

I was reading up on this and a lot of places say to just have it taken in and have it cleaned professionally. You'll only have to have it done like once every other year if you dont wear it a lot or even once a year. I do know that light rain wont hurt your coat. If it gets a little wet then just hang it up in a dry and well ventilated room, away from direct heat. And when you store it in your closet put it on a big hanger and put space between it an your other clothes

Most local dry cleaners don't have the means to clean by the 'fur coat' method, but they will send it out for you. Expect to pay for it. Its not cheap!
